ARRA: Biodefense and Emerging Infections (UCI PSWRCE)
Dear UCI Research Community:
UCI's Pacific-Southwest Regional Center of Excellence for Biodefense and Emerging Infections is inviting applications for exceptionally innovative but high-risk research in biodefense and emerging infections.
Deadline(s): May 4, 2009.
(Note: Please submit your application directly to UCI PSWRCE. Sponsored Projects review is not required at this time)
Funds: Awards offer at least $200,000 per year in direct costs for one to two years.
Eligibility: Open to PIs in the Pacific-Southwest Region, which includes California. Previous experience in the fields of biodefense or emerging infectious diseases is not required, and proposed research need not align with the thematic goals of the PSWRCE.
Areas: Please see list eligible areas of investigation online.
Awards support proof-of-principle work, product oriented studies, and basic research. This includes research on NIAID Category A-C Priority Pathogens and emerging infectious diseases agents.
