Research Administration Management Program
![]() |
The highly regarded Research Administration Management Program, known on campus and at the medical center as RAMP, has enjoyed a very successful 5-year run. The 15-course program offered multiple times per year at both locations has been classroom based and as such has required a rigorous commitment from the management staff in the Office of Research Administration. Our goal has always been to offer a comprehensive, certificated training program that provides campus participants with an improved understanding of regulations, policies, and procedures; strengthens internal controls; and provides access to important resources and contacts when help is needed. As we look to the future of our growing University, we see an increased demand for this type of training. We believe that by leveraging many of the new technologies, we will be able to make elements of this program available more often to more people. However, converting our program with current resources will require that we place our existing program on hold. We look forward to introducing a new, improved version of the program that will continue to support the research activities of the University. The courses currently posted on our website will be offered as planned. While we retool and reinvent RAMP, the staff members in the Office of Research Administration are, as always, available to help and support faculty, staff and students as needed. Although I am saddened by what appears to be an end of an era, I am excited about the possibilities that lay ahead. I congratulate all of our RAMP graduates and thank the faculty and staff who have supported this program. We have a lot of work to do and I am anxious for the day that we can present you with a new program that will not only meet but exceed the level of excellence that has been the hallmark of RAMP.
