FDP PILOT IMPACT: NEW SUBRECIPIENT COMMITMENT FORM
UCI is participating in a national pilot called the Federal Demonstation Partnership (FDP) Expanded Clearinghouse. The goal of this pilot is to decrease the amount of duplicate information collected from potential subrecipient institutions by using on-line entity profiles for pilot participating institutions.
Effective August 18, 2016, Department Research Administrators and Principal Investigators should:
- For in-coming subawards: Discontinue completing subrecipient commitment forms you receive from pass through entity institutions participating in the pilot. You may still be required to provide project specific information.
- For out-going subawards: Discontinue requesting the Subrecipient Commitment Form and request the new Subrecipient Statement for Collaborative Intent Form. Part One of the form is designed to be completed by all subrecipient and requests project specific information. Part Two of the form should be completed only by non-participating institutions and requests entity specific information.
A list of institutions participating in the pilot may be found here.
A subaward is a formal written agreement made between UCI and another organization to perform an intellectually significant portion of the scope of work (SOW) under a UCI sponsored project. UCI uses subawards when a particular expertise required for the sponsored project is not available at the University. Successful subawards require coordination between the principal investigator (UCI PI), the department, and Sponsored Projects (SPA). The following sections detail the life cycle of subawards and the procedures for proposing, issuing, monitoring and closing subawards:
