Bio Cluster

Description

The School of Biological Sciences owns a High Performance Computing Cluster that includes a 700-core Opteron cluster with 400 Tb of disk space to supplement the computational pipelines of the Institute of Genomics and Bioinformatics, which handles primary read mapping. It is available for use by the School’s faculty and students. Faculty with additional needs can contribute new core nodes and storage space, which can be connected to the computer cluster via an infiniBand switch. The additional storage space is then dedicated specifically to the lab contributing and the queuing system gives first priority to access on the cores nodes you contributed, with access to the additional hundreds of cores when idle.
