International Center for Writing and Translation

The International Center for Writing and Translation is interested in all understandings of writing and translation to foster multi-lingual, cross-cultural creative and critical research in UCI’s School of Humanities. Translation addresses difference—the difference between languages, of course, but also the difference between idioms within a language, the difference between time periods or generations, and the difference between various media. The center’s current initiatives include “Writing and Injustice”; “Writing in the Expanded Field”; and “Literature Out Loud.”
