W. M. Keck Carbon Cycle Accelerator Mass Spectrometer Facility (KCCAMS)

Description

The KCCAMS facility offers radiocarbon (14C) measurements, alongside analyses of %C, %N, δ13C, and δ15N, in support of carbon cycle research. It supports researchers at all University of California campus locations, and also accepts samples from US/international researchers not affiliated with the UC system.

The facility consists of the KCCAMS sample preparation laboratory and four laboratories focused on terrestrial/atmospheric, marine, and paleoclimate research. Samples handled routinely include organics (plant material, bone), carbonates, water, carbonaceous aerosol (bulk and elemental/black carbon), carbon dioxide, and methane.
