Regulatory Compliance
Human Stem Cell Research Oversight

The Human Stem Cell Research Oversight (hSCRO) Committee assures human stem cell activities are in accordance with California Department of Public Health (COPH), California Institute of Regenerative Medicine (CIRM), and applicable UCI policies and procedures.

The Committee reviews the scientific merit of human stem cell activities to assure procedures are consistent with sound research design, considers the ethical and social issues presented by human stem cell activities, and assures that the provenance of gametes, blastocysts, fetal tissue and derivation of human stem cells are documented.

The hSCRO Committee works closely with other UCI regulatory committees including the lACUC, IRB, and IBC to ensure all regulatory requirements have been met.
